Late Night Vegetarian Food in Singapore | Vegetarian Restaurants Open Late

Singapore is a food heaven, with many eateries opening till late or even 24 hours to cater to our rumbling tummies.

However, when it comes to plant-based cuisine, I can't help but to notice the lack of late night vegetarian food options available. I realized that vegetarian eateries seem to close earlier compared to their non plant-based counterparts. Also, those that used to offer 24 hours dining have now cut back on their operating hours too, or cease to operate.

Other than home-cooked supper, here are a few options I've found to appease our late night cravings. The list below includes outlets that open till at least 10pm, and arranged in order of their closing hours.

Shu Vegetarian 蔬方斋

Shu Vegetarian is a Chinese vegetarian chain, with location usually in coffeeshops. Most of their locations closes by 9pm, and I was so happy to find out that their Jalan Kayu location actually closes past midnight!

Location:

• 259 Jalan Kayu, Singapore 799488 (no MRT nearby; nearest LRT station: Thanggam SW4 along Sengkang LRT's West Loop) Operates till 3am daily

• Block 166, Bukit Batok West Avenue 8, Singapore 650166 (nearest MRT station: Bukit Batok NS2) Operates till 10.30pm daily

Servus German Burger Grill

Servus German Buger Grill (previously known as Hans IM GLÜCK) is an ideal place to gather your vegan, vegetarian and non-plant-based friends. Their menu boasts a variety of vegan burgers, vegetarian burgers, amongst other meat options. They also serve draft beer, other alcoholic beverages, as well as non-alcoholic drinks.

Location: Vivocity #01-57... may be a bit far out for many folks as they're in the southern part of Singapore (nearest MRT station: HabourFront NE1/CC29)

(fyi: they used to have more outlets, but the Vivocity one is the only left now at the time of writing)

Operates till 11pm daily (last order at 10pm)

Shake Shack

Shake Shack is an American fast food chain, and they offer a Shroom Burger that includes a crispy portobello mushroom. When we last asked, their mushroom patty and fries are prepared separately from meat ingredients (but don't hold me up to this! Always ask the staff if you're unsure or concerned about your allergies)

Locations:

• 1 Fullerton Road (nearest MRT station: Raffles Place EW14, NS26) Operates till 11pm on Fridays, Saturdays, and eve of Public Holidays, and till 10pm from Sundays to Thursdays

• Liat Towers, 541 Orchard Road (nearest MRT station: Orchard NS22/TE14) Operates till 10.30pm daily

• Jewel Changi Airport #02-256 (nearest MRT station: Changi Airport CG2)

• Suntec City #01-357 (nearest MRT station: Promenade CC4/DT15)

• Vivocity #01-163/164 (nearest MRT station: HabourFront NE1/CC29)

• Westgate #01-20 Westgate (nearest MRT station: Jurong East NS1/EW24)

Ananda Bhavan Vegetarian Restaurant

Founded in 1924, Ananda Bhavan claims to be the oldest Indian vegetarian restaurant in Singapore. Their menu includes both North Indian and South Indian cuisine, as well as western dishes like burger and pizza.

• 448 Serangoon Road, Singapore 218138 (nearest MRT station: Farrer Park NE8)

• 663 Buffalo Road, Singapore 210663 (nearest MRT station: Little India NE7/DT12)

Operates till 10pm daily (fyi: I didn't include the other outlets which seems to close for the day earlier. And oh! Some of their outlets used to run 24 hours back in the day)

Gokul-Raas Vegetarian Restaurant

Gokul-Raas Vegetarian Restaurant is a great place to bring folks who can't decide having Indian or Chinese cuisine. LOL. Other than the usual masala dosa and vegetarian soup kambing, we often order their vegetarian chicken rice (can go out of stock when you arrive too late in the day) and their horfun.
